Ostinato DiasporaOstinato is a  quintet with tremendous energy, a jazz-funk music desperate for freedom, in the spirit of the bands of the 70s.
A spontaneous music, well-served by the enthusiasm of young passionate musicians : the  wha-wha vibrancies on Guillaume Farley’s guitar, the lyrical sax of Yannick Soccal, the power of Kevin Reveyrand’ bass guitar, the explosive groove of drummer Francis Arnaud and  François Faure’ s various-colored keyboards.

François Faure : Composer / Keyboards

Born in Paris, France (10/20/1974). He  started playing piano at age 6, studying classical music at Paris Conservatory until age 19. His interest in jazz piano and modern music got him to take jazz lessons (with Bernard Maury and Bojan Zulfikarpacik) and to form his first cover  bands while he was still in high school. After graduating, he decided to meet professional musicians and begun to work as a side man with percussionist/producer Steve Shehan, and as a recording artist for various tv channels (Canal +, Voyages...). After these great experiences it was time for a deeper and stronger musical education, especially into jazz and harmony/arranging, so the 22 years old François went to the great Berklee School of Music in Boston. Coming back to Paris, it was time to begin a musical journey rich of jam sessions in the jazz clubs. And to put in concrete form his new direction, he created the band Ostinato Diaspora.
Meanwhile he was still playing with some of the greatest in spontaneous music such as Manu Dibango, Amar Sundy, Idrissa Diop... as well as rock artists (Benjamin Diamond, Sapho...), and he is also very active in the funk scene in Paris, playing and recording with Juan Rozoff, Sandra N’Kaké, Beat Assaillant, Booster and BlackJoy...

Yannick Soccal : Saxophone
Born in Monaco in 1975. He studied saxophone at the Nice CNR and the Monaco Conservatory. He went further in his forming by taking
Ostinato Diaspora part in a training course with Lee Konitz and Eddie Henderson as well as a festival in North Carolina where he plays with trombonist Curtis Fuller. More recently he played with the legendary french fusion band Magma and did the sound track for a documentary about Wayne Shorter (French / German channel Arte).

Thomas Naïm : Guitar
is a very talented guitarist/composer/ producer born in Paris (1/18/1978). He has recorded for lots of differents artists from electronic, world, rock, funk and jazz. He signed very early with the label Yellow two very nice albums of his own band “Tom&Joy” that led him to play all around the world and show a groovy, still very parisian, latin music, between bossa and afro-funk. His collaboration with the label Yellow doesn’t finish here, he’s recorded the guitars on all Bob Sinclar’s hits. Among the artists he played with: Hugh Coltman, Hindi Zahra, Idrissa Diop, Philemon, Shazz, BlackJoy, Sophie Delila, Ayoka...

Guillaume Farley : Bass / Vocals
Born in Courbevoie (3/29/1974), he is a self taught musician, multi- instrumentalist/songwriter, he excels in the playing of the bass guitar, influenced by Jaco Pastorious, Marcus Miller or Mark King (Level 42), he’s also a great singer with a very personal funk approach. He played with Youssou n’Dour, Faudel, Sapho, Juan Rozoff, Paco Sery, Ismaël Lo, Rido Bayonne, Booster, Sandra N’Kaké ...

Jon Grandcamp : Drums
Born in Strasbourg (6/3/1981), he begun studying drums and percussions at age 9. He formed his first band with his young brother Jim when he was 12 and decided to be a professional musician at 15. He was introduce by Bireli to a young bass virtuoso named Hadrien Feraud and recorded on his first album. He also played with Amar Sundy, Eric Lelann, Rido Bayonne, Lynley Marthe, Mario Canonge, Carla Bruni...
